OSHS Alumni Announce New Scholarship Fund
OSHS Alumni Announce New Scholarship Fund - Seeking Support from Local Business Community
The Old Saybrook High School Class of 1971 is pleased to announce a new scholarship in honor of the late Anne Peterson, teacher and OS resident for three decades. Mrs. Peterson was an accomplished educator and a remarkable person. She inspired her students through her character, kindness and empathy.
This annual scholarship will be available to OSHS graduates going on to college as well as those pursuing training in a technical field or trade. Financial need will be an important factor in all awards.
Awardees must personify the values Mrs. Peterson instilled in her students: setting high goals, working hard to achieve them, and demonstrating leadership. A short essay is also required on the importance of learning History - a subject Mrs. Peterson made interesting and relevant.
Corporate sponsors are requested to make a one-time donation in the amount of $1,500 (or any amount). Your business will be recognized by name each year in the Awards Night materials, the graduating class yearbook and the Class of '71 Facebook page.
The scholarship fund is being administered by the town school system. To make your donation, please contact Julie Pendleton, Director of Operations, Facilities and Finance at 860-395-3158 (ext 3013) or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your support!
