We are a “no till” garden. We rely on our own production of nutritious compost to enrich the soil.
We grow companion plants to attract beneficial insects. We fence to deter deer and burrowing animals We soil test three times a year and add natural amendments when necessary. We review successes and learnings then plan during the winter months.
Annual Navy Day allows us to tackle larger projects.
Our Garden runs on 100% volunteer power. Our volunteers: are from all over southeastern Connecticut. They have dedicated more than 2,900 hours annually to CGG's activities.
