Join us on Saturday, May 2018 between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm for an Open House to kick-off the start of “Horse Show Days,” a week of celebration of all that is wonderful about our participants, volunteers, and equine partners.
High Hopes Therapeutic Riding, is a non-profit based in Old Lyme, Connecticut, that has been providing the residents of South Eastern Connecticut with Therapeutic Riding, Carriage Driving, and Equine Assisted Learning programs for over 45 years. Our vibrant community of participants, volunteers, and highly trained staff harness the power of the horse to help improve the lives of individuals and their families living with physical, cognitive, emotional, and social disabilities.
As well as the opportunity to watch indoor and outdoor lessons, enjoy a baked goods sale, check out the new High Hopes clothing range, and enjoy the fun of a tea-cup raffle, there will be volunteers and staff on hand to explain how therapeutic horsemanship can be beneficial to people of all ages and of all abilities. Our participants range in age from 3 to 75 years old and come to us as individuals, through schools, groups homes, the V.A., and through human services Agencies and other non-profits like Safe Futures, and Sarah, Inc. They take part in group and individual lessons during the academic year, and from ages 3-12, many also come to the farm for an all-abilities Summer Camp like no other!
If you are interested in visiting High Hopes to see how 25 horses, 650 volunteers, and 26 full- and part-time staff come together to improve lives, this is the perfect opportunity.
If you are a High Hopes alum, make sure you stop by and say hi!
