Montessori School Holds Informational Curriculum Night
The Children's Tree Montessori School, 96 Essex Road, Old Saybrook, will hold a curriculum night on September 26th from 5:30-7:30pm.
Ever wonder why Montessori children spend time practicing pouring and cleaning?Find out how practical life lessons will carry your kids through college and beyond in this free workshop open to the public.
Each year, our certified teachers take you on a tour through the Montessori curriculum from toddler through 6th grade. This year, we will focus on practical life. The two main areas are care of self, such as pulling pants up, or cooking lunch; and care of the environment, such as washing tables, or taking out the trash. These skills allow children to develop concentration, coordination, order, and independence.
This free workshop is open to the public. Optional dinner and childcare is offered for $25 per family.
The Children’s Tree offers accredited Montessori education and was founded in 1995 to provide an alternative to traditional educational programs. The Children’s Tree is the only Montessori school in the area to offer programs for students 1-12 years old. For more information and to register for the workshop, call 860.388.3536 or visit www.childrenstree.org.
