Guided Swallow Migration Tour - 9/21/18-10/19/18
Calling all bird watchers, eco-enthusiasts and paddle lovers, the swallow migration is coming and we have the best sport to view them. If you have not experience the swallow migration and are in the area, you must. The Tree Swallow makes its annual migration this time of year and chooses a small island near the mouth of the Connecticut River to collect before their long journey south. As you paddle behind Goose Island, a few swallows will start flying overhead, it just appears to be normal as birds are everywhere in Old Lyme. Suddenly, you are engulfed by more than 300,000 swallows. They fly, dive, and swarm all around you as you sit back and take it all in. The Tree Swallows will give you a performance as they do a dance, in and out of the reeds, before one dives in and they all follow. This is a truly phenomenal experience that Mother Nature provides and words cannot fully depict what it is like to experience it in the still waters on a kayak or paddle board. We are thrilled to be able to show you just how amazing it is. Call today to book your tour.
