Documentary Screening & Conversation: “Letter from Italy, 1944: A New American Oratorio"
The Old Lyme, Connecticut Office of Exencial Wealth Advisor is pleased to be hosting a documentary screening and conversation with local composer Sarah Meneely-Kyder on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, from 12:30 - 2:30 PM. The documentary, “Letter from Italy, 1944: A New American Oratorio,” was created by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Karyl Evans and narrated by Academy Award winner Meryl Streep. It takes viewers behind the scenes of the creation and staging of an original American musical drama about Dr. John Meneely, who served as a World War II regimental surgeon with the elite 10th Mountain Division. Lyme-resident Sarah Meneely-Kyder and her sister Nancy Fitz-Hugh Meneely, a noted poet, wrote “Letter From Italy, 1944,” based on their father’s wartime experiences which he shared through his letters home to his family. A light lunch will be available.
