If you hate to see invasive plants take over your yard, your street, or local parks, this event will help you learn what these plants are and what you can do about them. Attendees will be automatically registered for free door prizes.
1:00: Sign-in, pick up free literature, talk with representatives from the Old Saybrook Conservation Commission
1:30: Presentation by Kathy Connolly
- What is an invasive plant? Learn about state-listed nonnative plants, nuisance plants, aggressive native plants
- Learn how to identify invasive plants
- 3 Ways to fight back effectively
- How to dispose of plants once removed.
2:15: Q&A with Larry Bonin, Director of Public Works
2:30: Take a walk in the adjacent parks to see some of the most aggressive invasive plants.
